Spanish football giants Real Madrid have provided further details on an injury sustained by midfielder Federico Valverde during a reported training ground altercation with teammate Aurelian Tchouameni on Thursday.
The statement reads: “Following tests carried out today on our player Fede Valverde by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury.
“Valverde is at home in good condition and will have to remain at rest for 10 to 14 days, as indicated by the medical protocols for this diagnosis.”

The latest disagreement between the two is said to have begun when Valverde refused to shake Tchouameni’s hand.
The Spanish report, quoted here by The Metro, adds that the situation significantly boiled over, with Valverde suffering “a heavy blow that caused a cut,” causing him to have to travel to hospital.
