It truly is the end of an era.

Another UK retailer is set to close their doors.

Once a staple on every high street in the country, this shop’s popularity has gradually eroded over the past decade to the point where their stores now make a rare sight.

The shop in question is the once legendary: GAME.

Last week, the company filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators, making this the second time they have fallen into administration since 2012.

The Game Business reports that Frasers Group, who own GAME, have now decided to close the chain’s final remaining standalone stores.

It’s believed that there are only three left, in Dudley, Lancaster, and Sutton.

GAME’s managing director, Nick Arran, is also leaving the company after nine years.

While this certainly does mark the end of an era for many of us who used to visit GAME on a regular basis, the store will live on online.

After the fall of Gamestation in 2012, and now the fall of GAME, the biggest UK games retailer left on the high street is CeX which currently has around 390 stores across the UK and over 600 worldwide.
