The Food Standards Agency issued a notice
Aldi has issued an urgent recall on a popular food item after packaging was labelled with the wrong use-by date.
The Food Standards Agency has issued a warning to customers not to eat a popular food item from Aldi, due to a labelling mistake.
The German supermarket has recalled ‘The Fishmonger Hot Smoked 2 Salmon Fillets – Honey Roasted’ because the use-by date incorrectly stated that the food was safe to eat up until 25 June 2026.
The Food Standards Agency note that the food item should have in fact been labelled with the use-by date of 25 April 2026.
A statement from Aldi read: “As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling ‘The Fishmonger Hot Smoked 2 Salmon Fillets – Honey Roasted’ because the incorrect use-by date is printed on pack.
“Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given.

“We apologise that this product did not meet our normal high standards and thank you for your co-operation.”
The Food Standards Agency said: “Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling the product.”
It added: “If you have bought the above product, please do not consume it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was purchased for a full refund.”
