Paddock Picks – Our big tips for this weekend’s racing

We’ve a big weekend ahead.

The Paddock podcast panel have landed their Paddock Picks for this weekend’s big racing.

This week on your favourite horse racing podcast, The Paddock, we’re joined by Oli Bell, Rishi Persad, Nick Luck, Tom Stanley and incredibly special guest Gold Cup-winning jockey Nico de Boinville.

Below are the panel’s headline selections for Saturday 28th February.

Paddock Picks for Saturday 28th February

Bet365 Premier Novices’ Hurdle, Kelso, 2.55

Pick: Starmount (Oli Bell)

“Locking horns with Nick! I love that. I thought he was very good at Wetherby, he’s a talented horse. Ben Jones for Ben Pauling. He’s my pick.”

Bet365 Premier Novices’ Hurdle, Kelso, 2.55

Pick: Montamaraz (Nick Luck)

Virgin Bet Supports Safe Gambling Handicap Chase, Doncaster, 2.00

Pick: Queens Gamble (Rishi Persad)

“She has been slow to come to hand this season, she ran OK at Bangor, and she was then pretty good at Musselburgh, a trip too far over two-and-a-half miles, dropped back to two miles and beat Bluey comfortably at Wincanton, her mark is still very handy, I think she’ll win.”

BetVictor Super Boost Has Arrived Veterans’ Handicap Chase, Newbury, 3.15

Pick: Brave Kingdom (Tom Stanley)

It was much better last time on heavy ground, prior to that pulled up with wind surgery, I think he’s three pound below his last winners’ mark, which came at the track. But he’s well treated and the signs were good last time, and the better ground will suit, cause he’s clearly not the soundest wind-wise.
