At least he saw the funny side!
Boxer Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller suffered one of the most unusual moments in recent boxing history on Saturday night, during his heavyweight fight against Kingsley Ibeh.
The two boxers faced each other on the undercard of the Teófimo López–Shakur Stevenson card at Madison Square Garden.
Miller, 37, had his hairpiece dislodged during his victory over Ibeh, and the incident occurred late in the second round.
Ibeh landed a flurry of punches and one of his hits snapped Miller’s head backward, causing his hairpiece to lift from the front.
It then exposed a large bald patch before the wig folded backward.
The sequence drew gasps and laughter from the crowd, and has since gone viral on social media.
The hairpiece was still partially attached to his head when Miller finished the round, but he removed it completely between rounds and threw it at the crowd before he returned for the third.
He managed to fight without interruption as he appeared to laugh off the incident.
In the end, Miller went on to win a narrow split decision by scores of 97-93, 97-93 and 94-96.
He rubbed the top of his head while celebrating inside the ring, following the announcement of the decision.
Speaking after the match, Miller joked the he had lost much of his hair only days earlier, claiming it was caused after using a bottle of shampoo that he said he found at his mother’s house.
