You can’t just toss everything into the bin, it turns out

A binman has warned people their recycling may not be collected if a common piece of packaging is spotted inside. It turns out, not everything can be tossed into the bin

Not every item belongs in the recycling bin, even though we are often told how important recycling is.

And one common piece of packaging is a big no-no, according to a binman who has explained how they can refuse to take away your waste if certain items are spotted inside.

The binman, going by the username The No1 Binman on TikTok, recently drew attention in a video he shared on the platform.

And it’s taken some people by surprise too.

This is not The No1 Binman’s first piece of advice, as he recently revealed why your waste may be rejected.

In another video, he wrote: “When you see dirty pizza boxes in the recycling bin.”

Then he is seen pretending to sing a song, which includes the lyrics “I wish something mattered to you.”

He is later seen pushing the bin away and leaves it, to show that this can happen to you if binmen manage to spot the packaging in recycling waste.

Many people are unaware that they simply can refuse to take away rubbish if certain items are inside the bins, so not everything can be recycled.
