Four people were rushed to hospital
A 25-year old man is fighting for his life in hospital after a drive-by shooting in Brixton last night.
Police rushed to Coldharbour Lane after shots were fired from a car shortly after 1am.
Four people were rushed to hospital, including a 25-year-old man who remains in a life-threatening condition.
The three others aged 21, 47 and 70 were assessed as having injuries that are neither life threatening nor life changing.
No arrests have been made yet, but the Met said detectives are working at pace to track down those responsible.
Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo said: “We understand how concerning this incident will be for the local community and want to reassure residents that officers are working at pace to identify those responsible.
“This was an act of indiscriminate violence, and we will work relentlessly to bring the suspects to justice.
“It is vital that anyone who witnessed the incident, or has information that could assist the investigation, comes forward.”
A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 1.14am on Saturday, May 2, following reports a firearm discharge on Coldharbour Lane, Brixton.
“Officers, including specialist crime officers, were on scene within four minutes and provided emergency first aid alongside the London Ambulance Service.
“Four people were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds. One man, aged 25, remains in a life‑threatening condition.”
Anyone with information or footage of the incident is urged to come forward and contact the police.
