Fifa are considering a new plan described as ‘radical’.

All clubs must have one homegrown u21 player on the pitch at all times, due to a new radical plan being considered from Fifa, reports Martyn Ziegler of The Times.

The new idea is said to help the development of young players, which will be proposed to different bodies, and then formally submitted to Fifa’s council next year.

Such an impactive change can be shown by the amount of homegrown u21 players currently in the Premier League, with the likes of Aston Villa, Leeds United, Burnley and Brentford not fielding one player in this proposed threshold.
