Awful news just in.
Two young children have tragically died in a house fire in the UK.
Officers from West Midlands Police were called to the fire in Wolverhampton at 20.30 last night (Friday April 24).
Firefighters attended a property on Mason Street in Wolverhampton where they were able to rescue the children from the building however they could not be saved and were pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
BBC report that two other children and a woman were already out of the house when emergency services arrived.
Ambulance staff looked over them but they did not require hospital treatment.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said that medics worked ‘rapidly to administer advanced life support to both children but tragically they were both confirmed dead a short time later’.
They said: “Our thoughts are with the children’s loved ones and all those impacted by this heartbreaking incident.”
