She was the second MP today to be booted from the House

Zarah Sultana has been suspended and removed from the House of Commons following comments made about Keir Starmer.

Sultana has become the second MP to be booted from the House today for comments made about the PM.

It follows on from Reform MP Lee Anderson being kicked out the House earlier today for calling Starmer a liar after Starmer claimed officials had chosen not to tell the PM that Mandelson had failed security vetting for the role of ambassador to the US.

On Monday afternoon, the prime minister addressed the Commons following the revelation that Mandelson failed security vetting before becoming US ambassador.

During his address, Starmer said he should not have appointed Mandelson as ambassador and apologised to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein who were “clearly failed by my decision.”

The PM said if he had known about the fact Mandelson had failed the vetting, he would not have gone ahead with the appointment.

Starmer reiterated that he had not been made aware about the vetting decision by the Foreign Office, something he described as “staggering.”

In response to this, both Reform’s Lee Anderson and Your Party’s Zarah Sultana called Starmer a “liar” and were subsequently removed from the House.

While Anderson was only kicked out, Sultana was kicked out and suspended also after not leaving immediately after being ordered to do so by Speaker of the House of Commons Lindsay Hoyle.

A suspension means a five-day ban for Sultana as it is her first ‘offence’.

A second time would lead to a 20-day suspension.

Sultana said to the House that Starmer was a “barefaced liar”.

She said: “He appointed him, he defended him, and now he claims to know nothing. He is gaslighting the nation, so let’s call it out for what it is, the prime minister is a barefaced liar.”

The remark was met by gasps by many MPs as she continued, “and if he had any decency left,” before being cut off by Hoyle.

Hoyle told Sultana to leave as she stood her ground and attempted to restart her speech.

This was met by Hoyle repeating his order and subsequently suspending the MP.
