A large emergency response is currently at a scene on the waterfront in Liverpool city centre following an ongoing incident.
Emergency services have been called to Mann Island, near The Strand, with the Liverpool Echo reporting that a number of emergency vehicles are at the scene.
Reports say that a large cordon is in place and that Mersey Fire and Rescue Service, North West Ambulance Service and Merseyside Police are all at the scene.
The scene is currently being attended by five police cars – one of which is unmarked – three fire engines, three incident response units, two ambulances and one rapid response vehicle.
The Coastguard is also at the waterfront.
Currently little is known about the nature of the incident.
