There’s some great films on this Saturday
Our movies on TV pick for tonight, Saturday, 7 March, is one of the best sci-fi movies made this century – Blade Runner 2049.
Over 30 years on from the original Blade Runner, Harrison Ford returned once again for the sequel helmed by Dune director Denis Villeneuve.
Released in 2017, Ryan Gosling stars as K, a Nexus-9 replicant “blade runner” who uncovers a secret that threatens to destabilise society and the course of civilisation.
Despite being widely praised by critics upon its release and winning two Oscars (Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects), Blade Runner 2049 was a box office bomb. However, it remains a modern cult classic and is definitely worth the time of any sci-fi fans.
Blade Runner 2049 is airing on BBC One at 11pm tonight, Saturday, 7 March.
Here are the other movies airing on TV tonight:
The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry – Channel 4 – 10pm
