Credit: Getty.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>As of this morning, there are now more than 40 Labour MPs who are calling on Starmer to resign &#8211; about ten per cent of their incumbent MPs in Commons.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>Labour List keeps track of all the Labour MPs and their position towards the leader of their party.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$?--><template id=\"B:7\"\/><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>As per the site, Sky News and Guido Fawkes, 44 Labour MPs have called for Starmer&#8217;s resignation or timetable for departure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<p><h2>Full list of Labour MPs calling for Starmer to resign<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>Over 40 MPs have called, in varying degrees, for a change of leadership, directions or timetabling of Starmer&#8217;s departure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>The full list of MPs is below and what some of them said:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p><strong>David Baines (St Helens North)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$?--><template id=\"B:8\"\/><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>&#8220;When you&#8217;re the leader, the buck stops with you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p><strong>Paula Barker (Liverpool Wavertree)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m a fan of Gordon [Brown], but I think rather than accept a position, he should have told him [Starmer] to go. Getty.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>Starmer also addressed the nation today (Monday 11 May). <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>The prime minister began his remarks by admitting that the results were, &#8220;tough, very tough,&#8221; before adding he took full responsibility for the setback.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>He said: &#8220;It is about taking responsibility to explain how as a political force we will be better, and do better, in the months and years ahead.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$?--><template id=\"B:19\"\/><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>On the losses to Reform and the Green Party, the Labour leader added: &#8220;We are not just facing dangerous times. Like every prime minister, I\u2019ve learned a lot in the first two years in the job in terms of the policy challenges that our country faces.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>&#8220;Incremental change won\u2019t cut it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>&#8220;On growth, defence, Europe, energy, we need a bigger response than we anticipated in 2024 because these are not ordinary times, and this is a political challenge just as much as it\u2019s a policy challenge.
