{"id":5422,"date":"2026-05-05T20:05:27","date_gmt":"2026-05-05T20:05:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.worldpumpnews.com\/?p=5422"},"modified":"2026-05-05T20:05:27","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T20:05:27","slug":"moment-plan-crashes-into-building-in-brazil-killing-two","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldpumpnews.com\/?p=5422","title":{"rendered":"Moment plan crashes into building in Brazil killing two"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div><!--$--><\/p>\n<p><h2>The crash killed two people and injured two others<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose drop-cap \">\n<p>A plane has crashed into a low-rise residential building in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, killing two people and injuring two others.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>Shocking footage shows the small aircraft circling the area before crashing into the building.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>According to the local fire department, the pilot and co-pilot were killed in the crash, while the remaining passengers are in serious condition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$?--><template id=\"B:0\"\/><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>The plane took off from Pampulha Airport with three passengers on board at 12:16 p.m. local time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash at 12.25 pm.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>Before the collision, the pilot informed Pampulha Airport\u2019s control tower that he was experiencing \u201cdifficulties taking off.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>The footage shows the aircraft circling the Silveira area of Belo Horizonte before colliding with a low-rise building.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>Lieutenant Raul of the Fire Department said of the crash: &#8220;It [the aircraft] hit between the third and fourth floors, in the stairwell.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$?--><template id=\"B:1\"\/><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>&#8220;If it had hit the sides, it could have struck some residences; those apartments were occupied.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>&#8220;What we saw was the structure of the aircraft projected inside the stairwell, without hitting any other apartments.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>Initial reports shortly after the crash indicated that the pilot was trapped in the wreckage of the aircraft before dying.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>No one in the building was injured, according to local reports.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>Footage from the scene shows a hole in the building\u2019s wall where the plane struck, with debris from the aircraft scattered on the ground.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$?--><template id=\"B:2\"\/><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>According to the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), investigators from the Centre for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (CENIPA) are examining the incident.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>Teams from the Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents and the Third Regional Service for Investigation are also on site to help with the investigation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>The Civil Police of Minas Gerais (PCMG) have also opened an investigation into the crash.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>Avani Soares, a resident of the building struck by the aircraft, said she thought \u201cthe world had ended.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>She told TV Globo: &#8220;Everything went dark, a lot of debris fell, and I thought, \u2018the world has ended.\u2019 On the other floor, people were screaming for help. I didn\u2019t know what to do.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$?--><template id=\"B:3\"\/><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>&#8220;Then I ran to the window because it had gone completely dark. Then I saw it and said, \u2018It can\u2019t be a plane.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>&#8220;There was a strong smell of fuel. I just grabbed my phone and glasses and went downstairs.
