We\u2019re making progress on that bigger package,\u201d Carney said, referring to the memorandum of understanding his government signed with Alberta late last year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPart of our job is to figure out ways to make that work, to make it work that\u2019s combined with reducing the emissions associated with oil.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"c-blockquote l-article__blockquote\">\n<div class=\"c-infoBox\">\n<div class=\"c-infoBox__inner\">\n<p class=\"c-blockquote__content l-article__blockquoteContent\">\u201cSo all of that lines up to it\u2019s more likely than not, which means more probable than possible. But none of that says it\u2019s certain. Premier David Eby \u2014 Carney left the door open to alternative routes to get more Alberta oil to Asian markets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, there are multiple routes where there could be a pipeline,\u201d reported last week that Ottawa was leaning toward a southern route for a new pipeline because it would face fewer environmental hurdles and less Indigenous opposition.<\/p>\n<div class=\"c-ad other routes.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. President Donald Trump signed a presidential permit authorizing that project earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>It is considered a partial revival of the Keystone XL pipeline
