{"id":5248,"date":"2026-04-28T09:18:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-28T09:18:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.worldpumpnews.com\/?p=5248"},"modified":"2026-04-28T09:18:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-28T09:18:08","slug":"stylist-reveals-how-to-recreate-this-years-trending-fancy-dress-looks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldpumpnews.com\/?p=5248","title":{"rendered":"Stylist reveals how to recreate this year&#8217;s trending fancy dress looks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div><!--$--><\/p>\n<p><h2>Brits love a bit of fancy dress!<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose drop-cap \">\n<p>Stylist\u00a0Mark Heyes has revealed how to recreate this year\u2019s trending fancy dress looks for less, as research shows dressing up has become a national obsession.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>A poll of 2,000 adults revealed 43 per cent of Brits claim to have more fun when in fancy dress, while 38 per cent believe the UK has become a land obsessed with the art of dress up.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>According to celebrity stylist Mark Heyes, this year&#8217;s standout fancy dress looks are being shaped by the cultural moments dominating our screens and social feeds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$?--><template id=\"B:0\"\/><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>They range from &#8217;90s-inspired throwbacks to viral fashion moments like Lily Allen&#8217;s headline-grabbing &#8216;receipt dress&#8217;, demonstrating how pop culture is driving instantly recognisable costumes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>With 23 per cent using fancy dress as a way to showcase their interests, from musical acts to favourite film characters, Gothic romance is also surging off the back of the blockbuster film Wuthering Heights \u2013 bringing dramatic silhouettes and darker aesthetics into the mix.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/greencastlemediagroup.bbvms.com\/p\/joe_uk_player_ctp\/c\/7257064.html\" class=\"absolute top-0 left-0 w-full h-full border-0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen\" title=\"Video Player\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>Group looks are also booming, inspired by hit TV shows like I\u2019m A Celebrity and Gavin and Stacey, as dressing up becomes an increasingly shared social experience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>These trends were recently showcased at Butlin&#8217;s adult only Big Weekender in Minehead, which hosted its first-ever Fancy Dress Fashion Week, a celebration of homegrown creativity that Mark described as &#8220;Britain&#8217;s answer to the Met Gala&#8221;.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$?--><template id=\"B:1\"\/><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>Mark Heyes said: &#8220;But this is where people actually have fun. This isn\u2019t about designers or money. It\u2019s about effort, real people, and inclusive creativity.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>Fancy dress is also boosting confidence, with a third (32 per cent) saying they feel more confident in costume, while a quarter (25 per cent) feel less judged and a third (33 percent) say it creates a more relaxed, playful atmosphere.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>Mark Heyes added: \u201cThat\u2019s the magic of fancy dress.
