There is a provision for it,\u201d said Minor. \u201cSo, there\u2019s a lot of things in there that are situation-specific that people may not know about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In order to be claimed, the CRA requires receipts and a written letter from an unrelated medical practitioner to certify that the tutoring services are required.<\/p>\n<p>The CRA\u2019s list of medical practitioners includes psychologists, behaviour analysts and speech pathologists, among others.<\/p>\n<div class=\"l-article__part\" data-shortcode=\"section-heading\">\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"l-article__sectionAnchor Canada\t\t\t<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>For Canadians who have sought out medical treatment outside Canada, Dhillon said it is important to keep track of everything to later see what can be received definitely a good thing, but not everything\u2019s always covered through there,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re going to have to pay something out of pocket, and especially if you are include surgeries, cancer treatment and dental care, among others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe cost of the travel expenses, including accommodations, meals, and parking, when a person needs to travel at least 80 km (one way) from their home to get medical services,\u201d the CRA states.<\/p>\n<div class=\"c-tabs\">\n<p>\n\t\t\t<button role=\"tab\" class=\"c-tabs__tab c-tabs__tab--active\" it operates in.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"l-article__part\" data-shortcode=\"section-heading\">\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"l-article__sectionAnchor c-sectionHeading__anchor\" id=\"interest-on-student-loans\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"c-sectionHeading__title\">\n\t\t\t\tInterest on student loans\t\t\t<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>According to the CRA, students can \u201cclaim the total amount of interest actually paid on the qualifying student loan in the current year or any of the previous\u00a0five years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the Canada Student Loans Act is a federal act that allows one to claim a non-refundable tax credit for interest on student loans. As a result, the act provides a tax credit with no fixed maximum limit on the interest paid on government student loans.<\/p>\n<p>Any unused amounts can be carried forward for up to five also entitled to tax deductions such as childcare and moving expenses.<\/p>\n<p>Donations to registered charities are also eligible to be claimed on your taxes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you or your spouse or\u00a0common-law\u00a0partner made a gift of money or other property to certain institutions, you may be able to claim federal and provincial or territorial\u00a0non-refundable tax credits when you file your income tax and benefit return,\u201d the CRA states.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGenerally, you can claim part or all of the eligible amount\u00a0of your gifts, up to\u00a075 per cent of your net income
