Police have issued a statement after a celebrity was reportedly arrested on suspicion of rape after attending Tyson Fury’s fight against Russian boxer Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenhum Hotspur’s stadium last Saturday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Sun reports that the unnamed star, who is said to appear regularly on TV, was arrested as he prepared to watch the fight from the VIP area. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
The man, who is in his 30s, was held suspicion of the rape and sexual assault of a female in North London earlier this year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
He has since been bailed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
The outlet reports that police knew the celeb was going to be in attendance at the Fury fight, and had planned to arrest him there.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
It is reported that he was arrested around 8pm as the undercard fight got underway.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThe star turned up and was in an exclusive area of the ground with friends, when he was nicked,” a source told The Sun.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt was a targeted pre-planned operation and he was stunned.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cSome people saw it but the police were trying to be discreet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt was over an allegation from earlier this year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt was a surprising swoop.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThe police spoke to him to explain the arrest, before leading him away for questioning.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cIt obviously meant he missed the whole event.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A spokesperson for the Met Police said there was an arrest at Spurs stadium in relation to alleged sexual offences that occured in Golders Green in January.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
In a new statement shared with Metro, the Met said: “A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape, sexual assault, and causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent on Saturday, 11 April.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
“This relates to sexual offences which reportedly occurred at an address in Golders Green in January.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
“A female victim is being supported by specially trained officers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
“The man has been released on bail as enquiries continue.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
