In a fiery new statement following the Strait of Hormuz closing, Iran\u2019s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has issued a new statement, taking aim at Donald Trump and US forces.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Mojtaba, the second son of killed former leader Ali Khamenei, praised his forces for standing up to American and Israeli \u201carrogance\u201d before threatening to bring about \u201cnew defeats\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In a statement mocking the Americans, he said his opponents have had their \u201cweakness and humiliation\u201d exposed to the world.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The 56-year-old Supreme Leader of Iran has not been seen in public since the US-Israel war with Iran began on 28 February.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

An Iranian state news agency released his new statement, where spoke of how his army has \u201cstood up to America’s sinister schemes\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWith its strong divine and popular support and in dense, fortified ranks, it [the army] stands shoulder to shoulder with other mujahideen of the armed forces against the two armies at the forefront of the front of kufr (disbelief) and arrogance, clashing with them hand-to-hand and exposing their weakness and humiliation to the eyes of the world; just as its drones strike like lightning against the American and Zionist criminals, its brave navy is ready to make the enemies taste the bitterness of new defeats\u201d, he went on.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

His latest statement comes as Iran this morning said it was once again closing the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Meanwhile, there have also been reports of Iranian gun boats opening fire on tankers attempting to cross the critical waterway.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

On Saturday, Iran’s joint military command said that \u201ccontrol of the Strait of Hormuz has returned to its previous state\u2026 under strict management and control of the armed forces\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Trump previously said that Iran had agreed to \u201cnever close\u201d the strait again, so he likely won’t take to the new developments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
