American singer D4vd has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a teenage girl, authorities have said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

David Anthony Burke, known professionally as D4vd, was the target of a grand jury investigation into the apparent murder of teenager Celeste Rivas Hernandez.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
As per court documents, investigators found her decomposed head and torso in a cadaver bag in the front boot of the car registered to D4vd’s address in Texas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the 21-year-old singer-songwriter was being held without bail and on Monday the case will be presented to the District Attorney’s office.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
On Thursday, police said that he was arrested \u201cfor the murder of Celeste Rivas\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
Burke, who gained popularity on TikTok, has been virtually silent on the case but his representatives previously said he was cooperating with authorities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
The body was \u201cseverely decomposed\u201d, the county’s medical examiner said, and pending the death investigation deferred on making a ruling on how she died.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Officials said that the teen might have been dead \u201cfor several weeks\u201d before her body was discovered, while no cause of death in her case has been announced<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

An online following has been ignited as a result of the lack of information in the macabre death which has fuelled intrigue, while many are hypothesising about the girl’s connection to the singer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In December, a grand jury began hearing evidence in the case, but D4vd’s arrest on Thursday marks the first significant development in the case in months.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
