In next month\u2019s local elections, the people of Abbey Wood in Greenwich will see the name Austin Powers staring up at them from their ballot paper.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Powers\u00a0is standing\u00a0as one of Reform UK\u2019s candidates to represent Abbey Wood on the Royal Borough\u2019s council.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

And if you thought that name was funny enough, just wait until you hear the names of his fellow Reform candidates: Gregory Rodwell and Ruth Handyside.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Are we sure they weren\u2019t characters from the Austin Powers films as well?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Powers\u2019 name and that of his Reform colleagues prompted plenty of amusement on social media.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
