{"id":4809,"date":"2026-04-09T23:53:47","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T23:53:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.worldpumpnews.com\/?p=4809"},"modified":"2026-04-09T23:53:47","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T23:53:47","slug":"defence-secretary-reveals-putins-failed-operation-north-of-uk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldpumpnews.com\/?p=4809","title":{"rendered":"Defence secretary reveals Putin&#8217;s &#8216;failed operation&#8217; north of UK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div><!--$--><\/p>\n<p><h2>BREAKING<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose drop-cap \">\n<p>Defence secretary John Healey has revealed a month-long operation by British forces against Russian spy submarines in seas to the north of the UK.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>Speaking to reporters, Healey revealed the UK and allies tracked a Russian attack submarine and two spy subs in the North Atlantic, close to vital cable and pipeline infrastructure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>&#8220;We see you, we see your activity over our cables and our pipelines,&#8221; he said in a statement directly to Russian leader Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>&#8220;We will not tolerate any attempt to threaten our way of life,&#8221; he continued.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>&#8220;You should know that any attempt to damage them will not be tolerated and will have serious consequences\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>&#8220;Putin&#8217;s covert operation failed because this government is delivering our first duty &#8211; protecting Britain,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>Healey said the Russian operation occurred \u201cwhile the eyes of many were trained on the Middle East\u201d due to the war in Iran.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>A Royal Navy warship and P8 marine patrol aircraft were involved in the UK operation to \u201ctrack and to deter any malign activity\u201d by the Russian subs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>Healey added that there has been no evidence that infrastructure has been damaged, but that the UK and its allies are seeking further verification on this.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><\/div>\n<p>#Defence #secretary #reveals #Putins #failed #operation #north<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BREAKING Defence secretary John Healey has revealed a month-long operation by British forces against Russian spy submarines in seas to the north of the UK.
