{"id":4779,"date":"2026-04-08T15:33:34","date_gmt":"2026-04-08T15:33:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.worldpumpnews.com\/?p=4779"},"modified":"2026-04-08T15:33:34","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T15:33:34","slug":"popular-holiday-airport-has-run-out-of-fuel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldpumpnews.com\/?p=4779","title":{"rendered":"Popular holiday airport has run out of fuel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div><!--$--><\/p>\n<p><h2>Several others are experiencing fuel issues<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose drop-cap \">\n<p>Tourists in Italy are facing delays as flights have been cancelled, following the running out of fuel of a major airport in the country.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>According to reports, the Brindisi Airport has joined other airports in experiencing fuel supply issues, after it has run out of fuel which has led to flight cancellations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>The airport said on Monday that it has asked airlines to refuel elsewhere, as it has run out of jet fuel.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>According to a Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) issued on Monday, the airport was expected to remain without fuel until at least 2pm on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>However, there was \u201cno emergency regarding the availability of fuel at Apulian airports\u201d, according to Antonio Maria Vasile, president of Aeroporti di Puglia, which operates airports across southern Italy&#8217;s Apulia region.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>The total number of airports affected by restrictions is six, as Reggio Calabria is where aircraft are limited to 3,000 litres of fuel, and Pescara has only one fuel tanker available.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>Bologna Airport, Milan Linate Airport, Treviso Airport and Venice Marco Polo Airport are other major Italian airports which are also facing issues.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>These airports have also introduced refuelling restrictions following a notice issued by Air BP over the weekend.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>As per Il Giornale, Pierluigi Di Palma, president of ENAC, said the shortage was temporary and linked to increased demand over the Easter holidays and not the war in Iran or the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, adding that the rise in Easter travel had exposed an existing issue with jet fuel supplies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><\/div>\n<p>#Popular #holiday #airport #run #fuel<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Several others are experiencing fuel issues Tourists in Italy are facing delays as flights have been cancelled, following the running out of fuel of a major airport in the country.
