Under party leader Zack Polanski\u2019s \u201cwar on motorists\u201d plans, The Green Party wants to make major changes for motorists, it has been revealed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In a decision that will split both motorists and non-motorists, a major change under the party\u2019s new plans is reducing the speed limit on Britain\u2019s motorways.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

That means that the limit would go down from 70mph to just 55pmh.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The taxes on driving would also be \u201cincreased incrementally\u201d and parking spaces would be \u201csteadily reduced\u201d to drive cars off the roads under The Green Party\u2019s plans, according to policies seen by the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

They also state that motorists would be forced to re-take their driving test every five years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Green Party describes driving as \u201cnot a right but a privilege\u201d, in the policy document.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201c’On major roads outside built up areas, the maximum speed limit allowed would be 55mph, to maximise the efficiency of fuel use as well as improving safety\u201d, the official Green Party transport policy says.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

If it was in government, Polanski\u2019s party would pursue a deliberate policy of travel \u201cdemand management\u201d, with the primary objective being to reduce \u201cspeeds and volume of motorised traffic\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cRoad fuel tax is an important factor in encouraging users to be more mileage conscious and to opt for smaller, more fuel-efficient cars. The Green Party would increase road fuel tax incrementally\u201d, the proposed policy adds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Polanski, who since September of last year has been the Leader of the Green Party of England and Wales, also plans to \u201csteadily reduce\u201d the amount of parking available and make people pay to park outside their homes as \u201ccar parking is not a right that any driver has on the road\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
