Ahead of his milestone 100th birthday, the beloved broadcaster and biologist has said he is \u201cnot afraid of death\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As he reflected on his life, he said he is not afraid of dying, bur rather of not living enough.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cI’m not afraid of d.e.a.t.h\u2026 I’m afraid of not living enough\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cAfter living for nearly a hundred years on this planet, I now understand that the most important place on Earth is not on land but at sea\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIf we save the sea, we save our world. After a lifetime of filming our planet, I’m sure nothing is more important\u201d, he continued.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The natural historian has previously spoken his fears for growing old, in particular \u201cbecoming helpless\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In his new interview, meanwhile, he has described his career which spans eight decades, as \u201cswanning round the world looking at the most fabulously interesting things\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sir David shows no signs of slowing down as he has new shows this year, in spite of worries from fans that he may stop making new programmes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In a new BBC series, Secret Gardens, he will reveal the hidden worlds and remarkable wildlife thriving within Britain’s gardens.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Previously, David Attenborough’s 100 Years on Planet Earth was also announced, airing on BBC One and iPlayer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The celebratory event will feature the BBC Concert Orchestra and special guests, broadcasting live from the Royal Albert Hall on his birthday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
