There was embarrassment for Nigel Farage as his idol Donald Trump gave him the cold shoulder after he\u2019d flown all the way to Mar-a-Lago.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Except, Farage never got to meet Trump during the visit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to a report in the\u00a0Financial Times, Farage had been invited to Mar-a-Lago by a member of the club, and hadn\u2019t actually received a formal invite to meet Trump.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
Despite this, the publication reports that he still hoped to \u201ccatch Trump for a conversation\u201d as the president was set to travel to Mara-a-Lago that day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
However, Trump changed his itinerary and chose to stay in Doral instead, an hour\u2019s drive from Mar-a-Lago, leaving Farage in Mar-a-Lago twiddling his thumbs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Perhaps the Clacton MP doesn\u2019t have the \u2018special relationship\u2019 with the Republican that he thinks he does\u2026<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Needless to say, Farage\u2019s latest round of jet-setting caused some murmurs of discontent. Labour MP Calvin Bailey accused Nigel Farage of \u2018lobbying against UK interests\u2019 this weekend, questioning his sense of patriotism in the process.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe are talking about our collective national security. The person who is always against these things is Nigel Farage.
