A ‘frugal’ woman shipped a month\u2019s worth of clothing via InPost locker rather than pay Ryanair\u2019s \u00a330 luggage charge on her flight – for \u00a32.59.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Laura Poole, 33, swerved the additional charge and squeezed her outfits into a gym bag, wrapped it in a Lidl carrier bag and dropped it off at her local Tesco Express locker.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
She then flew from Bristol to Glasgow on February 22, paying just \u00a357.48 for her return flights.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
Laura, who was staying in Glasgow for a month on business, shipped \u201cat least\u201d five outfits including suit jackets and dresses – all for just \u00a32.59 – saving \u00a327.41 on the trip.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
She dropped off her parcel on the Thursday evening before her Sunday morning flight and it arrived safely in Glasgow just after she arrived.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
Inspired by Vinted and their parcel shipping process, Laura has received comments from trolls saying she us \u201cstupid\u201d, but has also been hailed a \u201cgenius\u201d online.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Laura, a public speaker and trainer, from Cardiff, Wales, said: “I have better things to spend her money on. I actually did it before, this is the second time I’ve done it. So I knew it worked.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cI got the idea from Vinted because they\u2019re using InPost lockers for that. I was curious and thought \u2018I wonder how much it is?’<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cIf it\u2019s only that much for postage on Vinted it can\u2019t be as much as Royal Mail.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve always been really frugal and am part of the FIRE community – financial independence and retire early.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cLots of people are super frugal and I have better things to spend my money on than really expensive baggage fees.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m here for a month this time as well and I thought I\u2019m going to need more than a backpack, so I got my gym bag, stuffed it with clothes and wrapped it in a Lidl bag and taped it up.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cPeople on Vinted send stuff in anything – I thought \u2018that\u2019ll do\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Laura also packed enough clothes to last her two to three days in her cabin backpack.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cI would not post anything that I loved,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cFor example I\u2019ve got a scarf I\u2019ve had for 10 years and my grandad\u2019s t-shirts – who is not around anymore. That stuff goes in my backpack.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cObviously I don\u2019t want to lose my clothes and there are lots of clothes in there. It\u2019s insured for up to \u00a350.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cMy thought process is if anything goes wrong, or it doesn\u2019t arrive in time, I\u2019ve got time to buy news clothes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cI do public speaking so I need to look good. Suit jackets, trousers, all sorts I threw it all in, dresses as well.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cI must have at least five different outfits and then loungewear and stuff as well\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sharing her plans on Facebook, her post went viral.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
Laura said: \u201cThere are always trolls whenever anything goes that big and people are always negative, but overall I\u2019ve never been called a genius so much in my life.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
She will use the InPost locker system when she returns from the trip next month and will save another \u00a327.41.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
