They are then rinsed at 120C, dried, and pulverised into a coarse powder using a machine called a cremulator.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>According to Public Health Minister Jenni Minto, it was an \u201cenvironmentally friendly alternative\u201d to more traditional burials or cremations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>\u201cThe choices people make about their remains prior to death are deeply personal, shaped by individual values, beliefs and the wishes of their families.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>\u201cThe process will be subject to the same assurances and regulatory requirements as existing methods, giving bereaved families confidence that their loved ones are treated with care, dignity and respect\u201d, she added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>The Scottish government expects the first procedures to take place in the summer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>A typical cremation, it has been estimated, has a footprint equivalent to about 320kg of carbon dioxide.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><!--$--><!--\/$--><!--$--><\/p>\n<div class=\"custom-prose  \">\n<p>On the other hand, alkaline hydrolysis is found to result in the emission of seven times less CO2.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><\/div>\n<p>#Scotland #country #water #cremations<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some countries already use it The first country in the UK where water cremations are now legal is Scotland.
