According to new investigations, Kurt Cobain’s death could be a homicide, as experts have claimed that all the clues point to it rather than a suicide.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
Cobain, Nirvana’s lead vocalist, died 32 years ago at his home in Seattle, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
The King County Medical Examiner at the time ruled that his official cause of death was a suicide by a Remington Model 11 20-gauge shotgun.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
However, now, more than three decades later, a new team believes that his death was caused by homicide.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
Brian Burnett, a specialist who has previously worked on cases which involve overdoses followed by shotgun wounds, has been drafted in by an unofficial team of private sector forensic experts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
While an independent researcher on the team, Michelle Wilkins, claimed that \u201cthings don\u2019t add up\u201d just three days after reviewing the evidence.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
She said that “this is a homicide\u201d, and that \u201cwe’ve got to do something about this\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
According to Wilkins, she came to her conclusion after a lengthy investigation into the review of the initial autopsy findings.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
Allegedly, these findings didn’t match up to an instant death caused by a gunshot wound.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
In these findings, it is claimed that evidence suggests that Kurt was confronted by one or more assailants who allegedly forced a heroin overdose in order to incapacitate him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
Then, one shot him in the head and placed a gun in his arms, and also left an alleged forged suicide note.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are things in the autopsy that go, well, wait, this person didn’t die very quickly of a gunshot blast\u201d, Wilkins told the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
Wilkins says that the findings pointed to organ damage associated with oxygen deprivation, adding that \u201cthe necrosis of the brain and liver happens in an overdose. It doesn’t happen in a shotgun death.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cTo me, it looks like someone staged a movie and wanted you to be absolutely certain this was a suicide. The receipt for the gun is in his pocket. The receipt for the shells is in his pocket. The shells are lined up at his feet\u201d, Wilkins claimed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
However, a spokesperson for the Medical Examiner\u2019s Office said that \u201cKing County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office worked with the local law enforcement agency, conducted a full autopsy, and followed all of its procedures in coming to the determination of the manner of death as a suicide\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cOur office is always open to revisiting its conclusions if new evidence comes to light, but we\u2019ve seen nothing to date that would warrant reopening of this case and our previous determination of death\u201d, it concluded.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
