A UK-based travel agency has ceased trading with immediate effect to become the latest, but not for the usual reason.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A number of UK-based travel agencies have stopped trading recently, mostly because of financial issues.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
However, in the case of Simply Florida Travel Ltd, the company has decided simply to stop.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
The firm stopped trading as an ATOL holder on 20 January, as per the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
ATOL guarantees customers receive refunds if a company collapses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the company had a franchise agreement with the Travel Trust Association (TTA).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
Simply Florida Travel operated under a franchise arrangement with the Travel Trust Association (TTA) and the CAA advises customers affected to contact the TTA. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
The company was based in Glasgow and offered trips to Disneyland, Disney World, Universal Studios, New York, Toronto and Niagara Falls.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
Simply Florida Travel filed to be struck off the register on 13 October 2025, according to Companies House records.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
It was then dissolved on 6 January this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
A spokesperson from The Travel Network Group said: “Simply Florida Travel joined TTA in March 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
“During their membership, they made 12 bookings, all of which were fulfilled prior to the business closing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
“There are no outstanding bookings, no refunds due, no claims process required, and no customers who need to be contacted.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
“This was not a financial failure or insolvency situation. The business owner made a personal decision to close the company after completing all customer commitments.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
This collapse is just the latest of travel firms to cease trading in the UK, following a number of others this year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
This reflects a continuing struggle for businesses in the UK as the high street also suffers from a number of collapses across major store chains.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
