A police cordon is in place in Manchester\u2019s Gay Village after reports of a shooting and six people being arrested.<\/p>\n
Greater Manchester Police were called to the scene on Richmond Street in the early hours of this morning (Saturday 24 January) after reports of shots being fired.<\/p>\n

A man was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to his leg, an injury which has been considered non-life threatening.<\/p>\n
The firearm was also discovered at the scene.<\/p>\n Superintendent Stephen Wiggins said: \u201cThis will undoubtedly be a concerning incident to be waking up to, not just for those who live and work in the city centre, but for the whole of Greater Manchester.<\/p>\n \u201cOnce the call came in, our officers acted quickly, making to the scene to established what had unfolded at the address on Richmond Street, detaining six individuals who we believe have been involved in this incident.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have managed to recover a firearm at the address.
