Trump avoided military service 5 times. How dare he question their sacrifice. Farage and all the others still fawning over Trump should be ashamed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Davey referenced how Trump had avoided the Vietnam draft five times, receiving five deferments.<\/p>\n<p>Four of these were for attending college and one for a claimed bone spur condition in his heels, a medical exemption reportedly obtained through a doctor with connections to his father, which allowed him to stay out of service.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This has previously led to the likes of Jesse Ventura, Vietnam veteran and former Minnesota governor, calling Trump \u201ca draft-dodging coward\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Chair of the foreign affairs committee and Labour MP, Emily Thornberry, said that Trump\u2019s words were an \u201cabsolute insult\u201d to the 457 British service personnel killed in the conflict.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Conservative MP Ben Obese-Jecty, who served in Afghanistan, said it was \u201csad to see our nation\u2019s sacrifice, and that of our NATO partners, held so cheaply\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Writing on X, he wrote: \u201cI served in Afghanistan. I saw first-hand the sacrifices made by British soldiers I served alongside in Sangin where we suffered horrific casualties, as did the US Marines the following year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t believe US military personnel share the view of President Trump; his words do them a disservice as our closest military allies. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s sad to see our nation\u2019s sacrifice, and that of our NATO partners, held so cheaply by the President of the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWe\u2019ve never needed them.
