Sir David Beckham has made a statement about his children following his son Brooklyn\u2019s bombshell statement on his family.<\/p>\n
Yesterday (January 19), Brooklyn Peltz Beckham took to social media to break his silence on his estrangement from his parents, saying that he does not desire to reconcile with his family.<\/p>\n

His father, David, is currently at Davos in Switzerland, where he appeared on Squawk Box<\/em> in which he discussed social media and his children.<\/p>\n \u201cI have always spoken about social media and the power of social media . . . For the good and for the bad,\u201d he told the show.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat kids can access these days, it can be dangerous.<\/p>\n \u201cBut what I have found personally, especially with my kids as well, use it for the right reasons.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been able to use my platform for my following, for UNICEF.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd it has been the biggest tool to make people aware of what\u2019s going on around the world for children.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued to address his own children\u2019s relationship with social media: \u201cAnd I have tried to do the same with my children, to educate them.<\/p>\n \u201cThey make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. That is what I try to teach my kids.<\/p>\n \u201cYou sometimes have to let them make those mistakes as well.\u201d<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n When asked about Brooklyn\u2019s statement earlier in the day by Sky\u2019s business correspondent Paul Kelso on Tuesday, Sir David refused to comment.<\/p>\n Kelso asked if David had a message for his son and if he was disappointed that family business was being aired in public, per Sky News. <\/p>\n Last night, the 26-year-old took to his Instagram stories to address the reports of a fallout with his parents.<\/p>\n In his statement, the eldest child of David and Victoria Beckham claimed that his parents \u201cendlessly to ruin\u201d his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.<\/p>\n \u201cI have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n \u201cUnfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.<\/p>\n \u201cI do not want to reconcile with my family. I\u2019m not being controlled, I\u2019m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n Brooklyn added: \u201cRecently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they\u2019ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.\u201d<\/p>\n His statement addressed some long-running rumours about what has gone on between him and his parents.<\/p>\n
