Police have launched an investigation after the body of a man was discovered at a school by \u2018pupils getting ready to do PE\u2019.<\/p>\n
Emergency services were called after the grim find was made in the grounds of Smestow Academy this morning (January 19).<\/p>\n

One resident said an 11 year-old girl discovered the body at around 10.40am when she went out for PE.<\/p>\n
Pupils were sent home and the school was closed as enquiries got underway at the scene in the Castlecroft area of the city.<\/p>\n
West Midlands Police said they were now working to confirm the man\u2019s identity and the circumstances around his death.<\/p>\n
A force spokesperson said: \u201cWe\u2019re currently at Smestow Academy after a discovery of the body in the grounds.<\/p>\n
\u201cEmergency services were called at around 10.40am today, and the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
\u201cEnquiries are now underway to confirm the man\u2019s identity and the circumstances around his death.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe school is closing to pupils as enquiries get underway.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnyone with information has been asked to get in touch via Live Chat or 101, quoting log 1452 of 19 January.\u201d<\/p>\n
A notice on the school\u2019s website reads: \u201cSchool is closing due to an unconnected police incident from 1pm today.\u201d<\/p>\n

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: \u201cWe were called to a medical emergency in a field on Windmill Crescent, Castlecroft, Wolverhampton at 10.41am today.<\/p>\n
\u201cTwo ambulances and a paramedic officer responded to the scene where, sadly, one man was confirmed deceased.\u201d<\/p>\n
